A FEW MINUTES. THE OLD KEY LIME HOUSE IN LANTANA NEED YOUR HELP. THE OWNER SAID A MAN STOLE THEIR PRICELESS ANTIQUE MODEL SAILBOAT AFTER EATING DINNER THERE LAST MONTH. TONIGHT OUR SOOJI NAM HAS THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO OF THAT MAN AND WHY THE SAILBOAT MEANS SO MUCH MORE. YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE WISER GENERATION. SETTING THE EXAMPLE I MEAN, IT’S JUST HORRENDOUS. YOU’RE WATCHING SURVEILLANCE VIDEO FROM MARCH SEVENTH AT THE OLD KEY LIME HOUSE IN LANTANA. THIS MAN IN THE ORANGE SHIRT IS SEEN WALKING TO AND FROM THIS MODEL SAILBOAT IN THE LOBBY BEFORE COMING BACK AND TAKING IT WITH HIM. MY FATHER BOUGHT THAT FOR ME WHEN I WAS A YOUNG BOY. MY FATHER HAS SINCE PASSED AWAY, SO IT’S IRREPLACEABLE. RYAN CORDERO AND HIS FAMILY RUN OLD KEY LIME HOUSE, THE OLDEST WATERFRONT RESTAURANT IN FLORIDA. THERE’S A WALL CALLED WAYNE’S WAY WITH PICTURES OF RYAN’S LATE FATHER. AND RIGHT ACROSS FROM IT. NOW SITS AN EMPTY CORNER OF WHERE THE SAILBOAT USED TO BE. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN IN MY ROOM GROWING UP, AND NOW IT’S IT’S BEEN HERE BECAUSE THIS IS A PLACE OF WAYNE WAYNE’S WORLD. AND SO, YEAH, EVERY TIME I SEE IT, IT REMINDS ME OF HIM. AND SINCE THEN, RYAN HAS BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO STOLE HIS SAILBOAT. HE ALSO REPORTED IT TO LANTANA POLICE. I BACKTRACKED THE CAMERA TO WHERE HE WAS SITTING IN THAT BOOTH. THEY WERE THERE FROM 5 TO 945. THREE DIFFERENT CHECKS. SO ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE, WE HAVE THE NAMES OF THOSE PEOPLE. THEY KNOW HIM. RYAN IS OFFERING A $500 CASH REWARD TO ANYONE WHO CAN GET INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MAN. AND CAN HELP GET HIS TREASURED SAILBOAT BACK. IF THE GENTLEMAN DOES TURN THE SAILBOAT IN, COME IN AND GIVE AN APOLOGY. I WILL NOT PRESS PRESS CHARGES. IF WE DON’T FIND OUT, WE WILL ABSOLUTELY PRESS CHARGES. WE WILL NOT LET THIS GO. Ryan Cordero lives and works every day remembering his father, Wayne's, legacy. Cordero owns the Old Keylime House in Lantana, and has a wall set up at his restaurant, 'Wayne's Way,' showing all of the accomplishments and memories of his late father. But last month, the unimaginable happened. Surveillance video showed a customer stealing a treasured gift from Cordero's late father: a sailboat figurine. "He went into our lobby, where our gift shop area is and scoped it out, walked in walked out, looked to see if anybody was around," Cordero said. Surveillance video captured on March 7 showed a man wearing an orange-collared shirt, taking the sailboat with him that night. "You’re supposed to be the wiser generation, setting the example. I mean, it’s just horrendous," Cordero said. The Old Keylime House is the oldest waterfront restaurant in the Sunshine State. And throughout the restaurant, you can feel and see the family love.And to have a part of his childhood memory with his father stripped away, Cordero said he is disheartened and disappointed. "My father bought that for me when I was a young boy, my father since passed away so it’s irreplaceable," he said. The model sailboat sat on top of a fireplace mantle across from the restaurant's gift shop. Now, that corner is empty. "It’s always been in my room growing up, and now it’s been here because it’s a place of Wayne. Wayne’s world. And now, every time I see it, it reminds me of him," Cordero said. Since the incident occurred, he has been trying to identify the man who stole his antique sailboat. He also filed a report to Lantana Police. "I backtracked the camera to where he was sitting and that booth. They were there from 5 to 9:45, three different checks. One of those people, we have the names of those people, they know him," he said. Cordero is offering a $500 cash reward to anyone who can provide him with more information about the man and can help get his treasured sailboat model back. "If the gentleman does turn the sailboat in, come in and give an apology, I will not press charges," he said. "If we don’t find out, we will absolutely press charges.
