Texas Word Search Puzzle - U.S. States Geography Activity

This Word Search puzzle is a great addition to any study of the U.S. States. This puzzle features Texas, with 20 words about interesting things found in Texas: Austin, Johnson Space Center, armadillo, Rio Grande, etc. The listed words include the state capital, state nickname, state flower, state small mammal, and state food.

This puzzle is on a 20x20 grid. Words read from left to right, or top to bottom, with 2-3 diagonals also reading from left to right. This puzzle should be challenging but not too difficult for most 4th and 5th-graders.

Texas - Research Skills & Crossword Puzzle- U.S. States Geography Activity

This research skills & crossword puzzle resource is a great addition to any study of the U.S. States. This resource features Texas. Students are asked to use a computer to find the answers to 20 questions (state capital, city where Johnson Space Center is located, etc.) . They will also use this information to complete a crossword puzzle with clues asking the same 20 questions (worded differently). These activities can be done together or used as two separate activities.

This is a fun way for students to practice their research skills while learning more about the great state of Texas!

U.S. States & Capitals - Word Search Puzzle Challenge - Vol. 3

This resource includes two Giant Word Search Puzzles (22 x 22 grid).One has all 50 states and the other has all 50 capitals! Challenging and fun! This is a great way for kids to become familiar with the names of the states and capitals.

These resources can be used for in-class or take-home work, and are great to have on-hand for sub plans!
